PART 1: THE MEETING." do i know you?" dealia quinceton asked to the stranger who had been following for the last several blocks. the figure just stood there slightly wavering in the breeze. the figure was clearly a man of stature and was an easy 6ft 5inches, no doubt by the bulkyness of his sleeves he was a gymnist as well. the mere sight of those two aspects frightened her just enough for her breathing to increase but she stood there daringly in the cold of the alley she had accidently turned into. she was not blocked from escape he just stood there head down and hands in his pockets. besides she could just turn around and run down the alley to the oppsite street. the stranger finally looked up and inhailed a long breath. their eyes locked in the silence. the stare was hypnotic and made her dizzy in her stillness. those piercing eyes were o to familliar but she could not place them. the face was still hidden by the upturned collar. suddenly when she felt her balance was about to give way the stranger spoke up, "in time you will know me, no longer fear me, i am the dusk following dawn the coal and wood to every fire, and the father to the forsaken and the sheriff to the dark..."he said something softly like a name .perhaps even "rivan". in the blink of an eye he was gone as if lightning just flashed and he vanished. little did she know he was around the corner still watching her as she blinked in dumbfoundedness. a small smirk crossed his hidden face as he silently crept away. dealia went home and took a shower the warm water washing away the memory for a short while. cleansing her mind as a distraction. when that was over she dried and brushed her long brown hair. she placed it in a bun and went to read her book of old folk lore. the book was souly based upon the ghost stories of the city she just moved to. if something creepy was going on she would find out. not that she was nosy or anything its just she was a news writer for the city newspaper and she did a little bit of writing on her own time. people would think she was sick of words by the way she was always reading or writing or interviewing. but know they were her deep passion and if the whole world lost there voice for a day and the ability to write as well then she would communicate through sign language. as she was reading though something caught her eye. a story of a protector who would watch over the city as if he was batman. he would have his own little saying that goes as followed " in time you will know me, no longer fear me,i am the dusk following the dawn..." this was what the weird stalker had recieted to her in the ally. could he be a ghost or a spirit, an angel or what?!? now that she was interested there was no way of keeping her off the trail of this mystery...

PART 1B:OPENING NIGHT it was opening night and everyone would be busy. i love opening nights mainly because of the feeling of accomplishement. you know the feeling that you actually got these people to do something right after all th rehearsals, dress rehearsals, tech days and such. you feel as if you are now on a bigger and better winning path that wil do some good. the only thing i didn't like was the short tempers, the crowdedness of the green room and the having to keep arguements that are bound to spring up, on the down low. but, without these discomforts it would not be opening night and there would be no sense of accomplishement whatsoever. anyway it was opening night. o the sweet sound of music, the audiance and the autmospheric joy. i was walking up to the community center opening night. i walked because it was but a few blocks away from my house and i loved to walk even if it as was winter season. i had my tan peacoat buttoned up and a dark blue scarf flowing about my neck. my long curly hair fowed out over my scarf. my hands were in my pockets because it was getting cold. the snow drifted lightly across the starry dark night. the moon, which was half luminaited because of the clouds, beamed down on my rosy cheeks and nose as if my spotlight. i walked up to the backstage door an d slipped into the loud and busy green room. i walked straight to the dressing room and quickly got changed into my first costume. an opal colored t-shirt, that was long enough to be a short dress, over a deep royal blue. i kept my shoes on because they were flats and wouldn't effect my height. i walked over to the makeup area while stealing small talk with the other people getting done in the visinity. i was applying my light foundation when mia walked up to the station next to me. her and i never got along. i had no idea why. the first thing she ever said to me was " break a leg- really i mean it. snap it like a twig and stay out of my theater!" since then i tried being friendly toward her but instead it just turned into a rivalry. i glanced over at her and then refocused on my foundation. " like the dress i'm wearing? yeah its for a lead role. you know i'm playing one of the lead women, malre i gave julie the lead role of elietta this time." she said with a sneer. i smiled to myself and said, "did you hear she can't make it tonight, she is sick."i explained,after a silence i said,"so donnie is reasigning the role." i finished applying my lipstick. mia seemed distracted but then regained her composure. " i know who'll get the role."i began my blush." what should someone get the lucky girl? you know the one who gets the kiss from alexander in act 2 and 3?" i asked surpressing a smile. i put the brush down."three dozen red roses-or color of choice and their rival must leave her theater forever.not that i care or anything but what do you think?" she did one of those snotty smiles that made me want to punch her square in her face. donnie started to signal me for rehearsals." uh...you can stay i'll take the roses after the show." with that i walked off. in the backround i could hear mia throwing a fit. i didn't care i just smiled to myself...

the sun falls around me, stengthening my heart. i feel i can walk on through all the strife that life wants to deal. could this just be a premonition of the future of our world if we stop and think about what we're doing if we stop and realize that we are hurting the youth of our world with the things they see or hear or simple observe. what will happen?if we don't? our possible our destruction? a riot on the street or a permanent silence? i don't know but i bet it won't be good. go green its not that hard to do. take some time and organize around you from the paper there is the plastic and then the metal as well. make a game about it and watch it grow. like the trees in tghe rainforest as we go back in time before deforestation started to take place and the biuldings scraped the skys like the people of their cramped homes because salesmen just want your money and not you happiness or feedback. the greed of power, of money, the need of consumption. the feeling of wanting to get ahead in life, stronger than the need to get something off your chest. thats the world we live in. our economy. whats worse is inside the home where no one gives a care what their child says, sees or hears. things go unnoticed like the hurt of divorce or the pains of abuse. its sad, truly sad. the best medication can't come from a bottle or the store. it comes from spending time with your family on a warm day outside. taking in the sunset while smiling.observing whats around you and being thankfull for what youo have and letting the sun fall around like the strong arms of god in one big great hug. :-D

closet

alone in my room i start to think. the gears in my mind working, coming to life. pictures flash past like a slide show of my life a pale purple on a black backround,hope in the darkness.alive once more like the steady beat on a drum i get more thoughtful. inside myself i see a brand new me i look up and walk forward into a darker side. am i insane or am i seeing ghosts. words and names fly overhead, i duck. reading them i realize they are hurtful words that make me feel small. i fall into darkness the light no lonnger visible. falling i see the sins i once comitted, the pain i once caused. my heart fills with sorrow overflowing. the black liquid nearly dripping over. i finally hit the cold bottom and a light faintly shines from the above. a spot light on my emptyness on my pain. people i know are standing over me towering like skyscrapers. laughing, weeping, grinning, taunting. why did i have to be that way. somehow i find the strength to stand and say i'm sorry. the faces dissapeasr from sight like smoke in the wind. a door stands a far off. beckoning me. ligh casts a shadow over it. should i venture into whatever lyes behind the other side? i was suffocating and needed air. i ran for an eternity and finally grasped the knob. turning it i find relief. i pulled the door open and the dark tryed to suck me back in. no my will was stronger i wanted to leave. i look up and find my goal. a light. i trudge on and finally walk through the door. out of my personal closet.
